Legal Compliance & Stewardship

Federal, State, and International Wildlife Regulatory Frameworks

Last Updated: April 03, 2026

At E Farms, our operations are defined by a commitment to the rule of law and the ethical stewardship of exotic wildlife. We coordinate with a global network of partner breeders to ensure every transaction satisfies CITES international treaties, USDA animal welfare standards, and USFWS Lacey Act requirements.

01

International Trade & CITES Compliance

We strictly adhere to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). Our Exotic Wildlife Legal Compliance protocols ensure:

  • Appendix I & II Traceability: We only facilitate the trade of regulated species with valid, verifiable CITES export/import permits.
  • Captive-Bred Verification: We prioritize specimens documented as captive-bred (Source Code C or F) to reduce pressure on wild populations.
  • Global Coordination: Our team coordinates directly with international wildlife authorities to ensure legal entry into all markets we serve.
02

USDA & Animal Welfare Act Standards

Domestic operations within our network are held to the highest standards of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). E Farms ensures that:

  • Licensed Facilities: Our partner breeders maintain active USDA licenses for the exhibition or sale of regulated megafauna and primates.
  • Veterinary Oversight: Every specimen undergoes a professional veterinary inspection and receives a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) prior to transit.
  • Husbandry Audits: We vet our network for specialized housing and enrichment protocols that exceed minimum federal requirements.
03

The Lacey Act & Interstate Commerce

Compliance with the Lacey Act is the cornerstone of our domestic logistics. We prohibit the movement of injurious species across state lines and strictly follow “Captive Wildlife Safety Act” (CWSA) guidelines regarding big cats and primates.

Note: It is the buyer’s responsibility to verify local zoning laws and “Dangerous Wild Animal” (DWA) permits for their specific jurisdiction.

04

Data Transparency & Record Keeping

In accordance with our Privacy Policy, we maintain rigorous record-keeping for the life of the animal. This includes acquisition histories, health records, and disposition documentation required for federal audits.
