Exotic Animal Shipping Policy

Specialized Wildlife Logistics & Biological Safety Protocols

Effective Date: April 03, 2026

At Elier Farms, we treat the transit of every specimen as a high-stakes biological mission. As breeders who coordinate with an international network, we maintain the industry’s most rigorous Exotic Animal Shipping Policy. Our primary objective is the safety of the animal and the preservation of its genetic health during transit.

01

Weather-Dependent Shipping Window

Biological safety is non-negotiable. We reserve the absolute right to delay any shipment if environmental conditions pose a risk to the specimen’s health.

  • The Safety Zone: Shipping is only permitted when temperatures at the origin, transit hubs, and destination are between 5°C and 32°C.
  • Climate Monitoring: We utilize real-time meteorological tracking to determine the optimal shipping day. If your region is experiencing extreme weather, we will board the animal at no extra cost until conditions stabilize.
02

Specialized Carrier Selection

In accordance with our Exotic Animal Shipping Policy, we never utilize standard parcel services for live wildlife. Our logistical network includes:

  • Specialized Couriers: Climate-controlled, dedicated exotic animal transporters for ground-based domestic logistics.
  • Air Freight: Authorized “Pet First” or equivalent climate-controlled cargo services for megafauna and primates.
  • Airport-to-Airport: For certain sensitive species, we require the buyer to pick up directly from a major hub to minimize “last-mile” stress.
03

International Transit & Quarantine

For our international breeder partners, we manage the complexities of cross-border movement. We oversee the filing of all necessary health certificates and CITES documentation. Please note that once a specimen enters a country’s specific quarantine facility, the timeline and costs are governed by local governmental authorities.

04

Post-Arrival & Acclimation

The first 48 hours are critical. We provide a detailed species-specific acclimation guide with every shipment. Once the animal has been signed for, the responsibility for its continued health shifts to the buyer. Failure to follow the provided acclimation protocols will void any subsequent health claims as per our Refund Policy.
